I VOTE NOBODY

I just got this fwd email from my friend, wanted to share....

Section 49-O of the Constitution -

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that

· polling will be cancelled and

· Will have to be re-polled.

Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them.

This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know...

Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India ...

show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody,

is even more powerful than voting...

so don't miss your chance.

So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

"Please forward this mail to as many as possible, so that we, the people of India , can really use this power to save our nation".

Use your vote right for a better INDIA .

Watch Your Time!

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word 'time' is punctuality. You may have surely heard the one-liner - The bad thing about being punctual is that nobody is there to appreciate it. Well, it may sound comical at the first reading, but it actually tells us how ignorant we are when time is concerned.

I have always observed that a party receives its first guest only an hour later. In this modern India, appearing late for an event has become more of a style statement. How will others know that you are really very busy if you don't turn up late?

Tardiness has seeped into the human-psyche in such a way that some people now are planning to keep an 'Early Bird' award to attract visitors on time!

Ask an Indian stock broker the following question - Is time really equal to money? You will surely get a fitting reply,"Oh, that's just a so-called proverb. Look, we don't have any shortage of time, do we? But if we don't have money, we'll land up begging, you see. So money obviously matters more.

"I feel that if a rupee is given the status of a second, then one can easily become a billionaire within months. The one who does not value time and wastes it without a second thought has to definitely, run the gauntlet. I sincerely believe that each and every second of this minute, of this hour, of this day, of this month, of this year, of this decade and of our life should be given utmost importance.

I dedicate the following poem to all my fellow Indians who perhaps, might have still not realized the value of time:

People made clocks and watches,

And then was devised,

the tic-tic sound.

Now, the World controls time,

Or is it the other way round?

Time is a dimension,Of seconds, minutes and hours.

And not a calculator,

To measure conflicts and Wars.

It is with the mendicant and the king,

And is known as 'The Priceless Thing'.

For no greatest dime,

Can ever buy the millisecond of a time.

There's an old saying which says,

"Time and tide wait for no man".

And if you still don't believe in it,

Then pause the moment if you can!

Please Note: I do not mean that Indians are only people who are not punctual. I only want to assert that if Indians respect time, India can surely go a long way and take the first step towards becoming a developed nation.

Our (Namesake) National Pledge...

When was the last time you took the national pledge?
...
In fact, do you even know what the national pledge is?
The National Pledge of India is as follows:

"India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters.I love my country and I am proud ofits rich and varied heritage.I shall always strive to be worthy of it.I shall give my parents, teachers and all eldersrespect and treat everyone with courtesy. To my country and my people,I pledge my devotion. In their well-being and prosperity alone, lies my happiness."

I used to take this pledge everyday for 10 years, at my school. But I never gave importance to it, until now.
I wish to explain you its relevance in this so-called modern India:-
India is my country.
Well, does that need any explanation?
All Indians are my brothers and sisters.
The biggest lie I have ever heard! I can't stop wondering why brothers would abuse, injure and kill themselves. And sisters don't backstab each other, do they?
I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.
Oh...really? Then the next thing you will say is foreigners inscribe love signs and messages on national monuments, right?
I shall always strive to be worthy of it.
Should that be...I shall always strive to make my country unworthy of me?I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy.Do you really know what respect and courtesy mean?
To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.Would that be a devotion to corruption and bribery?
In their well-being and prosperity alone, lies my happiness.
I guess nobody remembers the Gujarat riots of 2002.
Am I being too harsh? I am sorry, but this is the truth. But all is not lost, my friend. Hope all that you want.
And if you want to undo all that happened to your, mine and our country, GET UP...
GET UP...and vote in the upcoming elections. Don't vote for money, but for prosperity.VOTE against all that you think is wrong...and wake up to see a
DEVELOPED INDIA!
